I have a Friend in Bob.

Here’s a familiar bit from Isiah 42:5

5Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

6I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

7To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, [and] them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

8I [am] the LORD: that [is] my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

9Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

Isiah 42:5 is a glorious and standard preamble to prophesy that declares the omnipotence and absolute authority of God in his cosmos. A re-examination of Isiah 42:6, traditionally taken to be a messianic allusion to Christ, might in fact be read as a messianic allusion to the Church of Discordia and their ministry to the folk of preserving the earliest available copies of the scriptures. I think this has been entertained or at least will be now, but let’s go on from here. Could Isiah 42:7 Read thus? “It is yours now to bring into the light and effect healing thereby the givers of sight to the blinded by those bound by removal that they might remove from prison, those who kept under latch and themselves as well the guarded at supreme cost, and those took thrones in darkness to there reign and guard, constrained to my wants in prison garb.

Yehova qualities and character you shall have,

Ahh… The rest of you run with it from here. I am just the opening sally tonight.
